"Incarnations", Collective exhibition from May 3 to June 15
Galerie Frédéric Moisan is pleased to present its new collective exhibition “Incarnations”, which brings together the works of Megumi Terao, Marianna Gefen, Stéphanie Sautenet and Sandra Martagex, from May 3 to June 15, 2022.
“Incarnation” echoes the personification of elements of nature, emblematic figures of psychological states and introspection. Indeed, the work of Megumi Terao is characterized by the representation of a single subject: “mature men” – as she likes to call them. The wrinkles, which the artist takes pleasure in highlighting, are the testimony of the storms he has passed through and undoubtedly the pledge of a wisdom that would consist in living only in the present moment. Stéphanie Sautenet's work is characterized by a desire to bring to light invisible, concealed presences. Marianna Gefen plays on the imagery that characterizes her work. She plays on the traces of aging, the ephemeral and the charm of yesterday. Through her paintings and drawings, Sandra Martagex explores the relationship to the body, in its most organic dimension. The color red, like an evocation of flesh and blood, runs through his work. The internal organs are apparent, made visible and exposed to view. However, the perceptible morbidity of the representation is eclipsed by a latent eroticism, outlining a strange and deeply poetic work.
The collective exhibition "Incarnations" is a manifestation of metamorphoses and myths that take us on a journey into the unconscious and human sensitivity.
Opening on Saturday May 21 from 4 p.m.
