Galerie Frédéric Moisan is pleased to present during this new edition of the Outsider Art Fair the works of artists Alfredo Vilchis Roque, Ayako Miyawaki, Bernard Guillot, Belem Julien and Mathieu Schmitt, ISE, Nicolas Dieterlé and Sandra Martagex.
A mixture of materials and techniques calling for the defense of visual and emotional expressions and impressions, navigating between popular art and art brut, between metal and fabrics, passing through erotic drawing.
Founded in New York in 1993, the Outsider Art Fair is the first art fair exclusively devoted to self-taught art, art brut and outsider art. It presents both masters of international reputation, such as James Castle, Aloïse Corbaz, Henry Darger, Thornton Dial, William Edmondson, Martín Ramírez, Judith Scott, Bill Traylor, and Adolf Wölfli, and contemporary artists such as M'onma, Susan Te Kahurangi King, Frank Walter and George Widener. Quickly recognized for its nonconformity, the OAF has played a crucial role in the development of a community of passionate collectors and in the increased recognition of these off-grid art forms on the contemporary art scene. In 2012, OAF was acquired by Wide Open Arts, a company created by New York gallerist Andrew Edlin. The critically acclaimed 2013 edition of the OAF tripled its number of visitors compared to the previous year. Building on this success, Wide Open Arts decided to export its fair to Paris in October 2013, thus breathing new life into a rich Parisian tradition for art brut. OAF Paris was first held for two years at the Hôtel Le A, near the Grand Palais, and moved in 2015 to the Hôtel du Duc, a private mansion located in the Opéra district. Since 2018, the fair has been held at L'Atelier Richelieu, in the 2nd arrondissement.
